You are correct, symbols mean certain things to different people but we can't see beyond the negative symbol and into the heart of the person who displays it While the Confederate flag has a place in history it is also the flag of slave owners and a reminder of all the abuses ociated with slavery. It has everything to do with slavery. The same thoughts pertain to the German Nazi symbols of WWII.
