Best Portland, OR neighborhood for me?

The inner east side is by far the better part of town. If you look at a map of Portland, the borders for what I believe to be the most desirable parts of Portland are as follows: the River, SE Powell, 30th Ave., and NE Alberta. Beyond these areas it gets weird. Most, if not all, of your interests should be adequately covered. I never go downtown if I don't have to. Avoid it like the plague.
