How do you make your own guitar riffs?

i have been a guitar play ever since the age of 5 and im 16 now and this whole time ive taught my self every thing i know but the one thing i just cant get is soloing i mean i sit day in and out messin around trying to find something but nothing works and i feel that i cannot take my music any farther without figureing this out please help
